ROCK MACHINE E-BIKES 2015

E-bikes / Electric bikes are the most rapidly growing bike segment in the EU at present. The reason is at hand: E-bikes are flexible and “green” form of urban transportation. They provide all the advantages of a regular bicycle: fun exercise, free parking, zero emissions, and freedom of riding, at the same time they provide cyclists with extra power, which makes riding a bike much quicker. In many cities riding an e-bike is much faster and cheaper means of transport than driving a car or taking public transit.
The 2015 ROCK MACHINE collection of City & Trekking offers e-bikes with two types of pedelec power systems (systems that are only activated by riders pedaling):

• the well-proven POWERFLEX system with hub motor upgraded to 36 Volt / 250 Watt standard
• the new STePS middle motor system by Shimano

Both systems will be offered for the CITY and TREKKING categories according to user preference and both will be supported with a new online diagnostics tool for dealers.

STEPS 2015: THE LONG AWAITED E-BIKE SOLUTION BY SHIMANO

Shimano took time to fi nalize its e-bike City & Trekking power system, but STePS has now entered the market and it seems to have been worth all the waiting. And ROCK MACHINE is really proud to have become one of the fi rst European brands that acquired the know-how of implementation of the new STePS E-bike system by SHIMANO. ROCK MACHINE will offer a total of 6 STePS models in its 2015 collection of City & Trekking. Four models in the CITY category and two TREKKING models.
So what are the main technical benefi ts of STePS?

• STEPS will be a totally integrated E-bike groupset. From drive unit to battery, front gear set, cycle computer and chain. 
• STePS motor is small so it allows us to design bikes with really nice and compact look.
• STePS motor produces almost zero noise.
• STePS is offered with a Di2 Electrical shifting for rear Hub using internal gearing.

Aftersales service

• STePS is offered with electronic dealer tool setup software called E-tube, which allows for online fault analysing and system synchronization.
• STePS is possible to get serviced in all SHIMANO service centres, which provides for the most accessible e-bike aftersales service network across the whole EU. No other e-bike system has this complex service network.
